The Cooked Shrimp
Processing Certification School
The Cooked Shrimp Processing Certification School was organized to provide a formal, recognized training program for individuals and companies processing and/or buying cooked shrimp products. These products can involve wild harvested and farm raised shrimp from all warm and cold waters about the world. It includes all shrimp species that are cooked for public consumption.
The program was developed and is maintained by the academic expertise based at the University of Florida’s Aquatic Food Products Program in Gainesville, Florida in company with the commercial expertise based in Laitram Machinery in Harahan, Louisiana .
The approach provides standardized training based on the best available science, regulations and commercial practices compiled in the current editions of the proprietary Training Manual. Instruction involves lectures, demonstrations and actual hands-on experience in monitoring cooking processes.
All participants that complete the course will be issued a formal “Certificate of Course Completion” that will be recognized by various state and federal authorities as well as commercial interests around the world.
