Afterpeeler

Laitram’s Afterpeeler removes any remaining shell or debris that is detected by optic or manual sorting in the final stages of the cold water peeling process. Some shell and debris may be hard to remove using the Peeler, Cleaner and Separator and therefore, a repeeler or afterpeeler is beneficial to ensure a quality finished product.

By adding an afterpeeler, overall capacity can be increased through the main peelers, as the afterpeeler will catch underpeeled shrimp. Also, the main peelers in the system can be designed with a short or no lower section to maintain or improve quality.
